I became interested in dogs already in childhood as we had Finnish Spitzes. They needed a show result so I handled our dogs and became also interested in shows. We have had also Samoyeds and Siberian Huskies.
When I studied there was a need for a smaller dog and by accident the choice was a Dachshund. I started breeding Long-haired Miniature Dachshund with prefix Rodels and I have got the Vuolasvirta-prize, the highest award of the Finnish Kennel Club for the results of successful breeding. In my breeding there are for exemple a couple of European and World Winners.
I have been living and studying in Germany and my knowledge of German language has been of huge help with the German national breed. Even though my passion is Dachshunds, I am still very keen on Spitz breeds. So far I have judged in several European countries, also in World Dog Show in Milan and in many Dachshund specialities in several countries. At the moment I am the vize president of The Finnish Dachshundclub and chairman of the Dachshund Judge Committee. I find it extremely interesting to get to know new breeds. I am qualified to judge the group 4 and most of breeds in groups 5, 6 and 7. And now I have started to do groups 8 and 10.

Already in my child hood I used to live with dogs, because my grandparents had a Rough Collie and later a Welsh Corgi Pembroke. In the late 60´s, we lived in Helsinki, where I met for the first time, a Sight hound - the borzoi male "Leo", was owned by our President Urho Kekkonen, which he had got as a present from the Soviet Union. Later, our next door, was the famous Finnish borzoi kennel "Korotai". My parents bought their first dog in the early 70´s - a Karelian Bear Dog which was used also for elk hunting and we also had a Bear Dog litter, with seven puppies at home. My first, really own dog, was a black & tan German Pinscher bitch Qesia of Leijliden, called "Skippy", and I bred my first own litter with seven puppies, in the July 1979.
The first Saluki came into my life 1980. We have also had Labradors since 1995 at home based to English lines.
At the moment we have two Salukis at home and I have bred 26 Saluki litters and over 100 Champions – including several International Champions and Coursing and Racing Champions. I have also exported puppies to Belgium, Germany, Italy, Latvia, Slovenia and Switzerland.
During all those years I have been very much involved in the Club activities, as secretary, show committee member, a ring steward, the President of the Finnish Saluki Club from 1995 to 2003 and assessing prospective judges. I have been a board member of Finnish Judges Society and a member of the Finnish Kennel Club Show and Judges Committee.
I’ve been interested in dogs since I was a kid, I just love dogs. My first dog was an American Cocker bitch, Champion and my first BIS winner. We’ve had Champion Afghan Hounds, English Cockers and Golden Retriever as well. Today we only have Old English Sheepdogs under the kennel name Reata. The OES that we owned or bred have won their championships in Argentina, Brasil, Chile, Uruguay, USA, Canada, Australia, China, England, Sweden, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Greece, Portugal, Spain, Gibraltar, Luxembourg, Austria, Hungary, Italy, San Marino, Serbia, Russia, Slovenia, Yugoslavia, Moldova, Montenegro, Romania, Georgia, Cyprus, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Latvia and Croatia. We have BIS winners in Europe, South and North America, RBIS at European Dog Show, Group Winners both at the World and European Shows, WD and two times AOM at the American National, two times BIS at the Euro-OES Show, BOB at Crufts etc. We achieved all that never having more than five adults at home. I’ve been judging dogs for more than 25years, and I am approved by the Croatian KC and FCI to judge about 200 breeds. I have judged so far in Austria, Australia, Canada, Croatia, Czech Republic, Denmark, England, Finland, France, Germany, Holland, Hungary, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Russia, Serbia, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, USA and Yugoslavia. In 2014 I received Award for lifetime achievement in breeding from Croatian KC. Currently we live in Canada and we continue to breed our OES here, in 2016 5 dogs from our breeding finished American championships. Looking forward to be back to Finland after so many years. I know that weather will be great! See you in June.
I have been showing and breeding OES since the late seventies. Together with my wife Rose .
Our prefix is Raggletaggle . We have made up several champions in Ireland , England and the USA.
We have had the top winning OES in the US in 2013 , indeed we had the first AM Grand Silver Champion in bitches in the breed .
I still show and love the game .This I feel is very important when you step into the ring to judge because you know the hopes and expectations of the exhibitors.
I am an FCI all rounder and have been very fortunate to have judged all over the world , and have met so many fantastic people and dogs on my journey's .
I have been involved in every aspect of running dog show in Ireland , and have held positions from car park attendant to president , and everything in between !!
For me , dog showing is a way of life and I really look forward to judging this very special show . I wish the all the exhibitors the very best of luck and look forward to meeting you all .

I was born in 1966 in to a non doggy family but being an only child I longed for my parents to get a dog as I knew this would make the perfect companion for me. As my parents didn’t share my passion I was almost 17 years of age before my wish was granted and a cross breed dog was acquired.
My first pure bred Dalmatian female came later after I had set up home on my own and then 3 years later I was introduced by a mutual friend to an already very successful Rough Collie breeder and pretty soon I was the new owner a Rough Collie female and co owner, along with my boyfriend at the time, of a male. The breeder in question was Denis Sabolic (DENNISAY'S Collies), who was then "only" the breeder of my first Collies but who later became my mentor, my friend and my partner.
At the time of writing Denis and I have been together for 27 years and we share our home with our 6 year old twin boys, Filip & Aleksandar and 15 dogs. We continue breeding our Dennisay's-Geantles Collies and have bred or owned over 100 Champions in all three colours and both sexes including International, WORLD & EUROPEAN Champions.
Our Collies were TOP DOGS 22 times, 18 years in a row.
I began showing early in my canine career and my first Rough Collie male, MULTI CH. Dennisay's Forgery, who I mentioned earlier became one of TOP Collies in ex Yugoslavia.
Together with Denis, we were the first handlers in the country and were part of a small international group of 4 professional handlers. We were pioneers in that profession in Europe and for 7 years I was showing dogs with great success, achieving wins with numerous TOP DOGS in their breeds, Groups and BIS winners all over Europe.
I was one of the founders of the British Sheepdog Club Zagreb and a member of the Board for 5 years & President of the Breeding Committee. During this time, the club was the second biggest breed Club in Croatia with over 150 members. Today I am on the Board of our local KC near Zagreb, where we live now.
Over the years I have been involved in organization of a couple of National and International shows with great success. Both Denis and I are holders of the GOLDEN MEDAL, one the highest awards given by the Croatian Kennel Club for our breeding & showing achievements and also for our overall contribution to Croatian cynology.
I became a dog show judge in 1993. My first licensed breeds were British Sheepdogs. 10 years later I have finished the FCI Group I and FCI Group V. Today I am International FCI judge for FCI Group I, IV, V, IX and X with some additional breeds in the group II, III and VI.
During these 23 years I have judged in 22 countries, including the Collie National in Melbourne, Australia, which was a great honour for me as a breeder. I am glad and honoured that as a judge I have some additional countries and Continents booked into my future Schedule.
Photography is my another passion and last year we celebrated 20 years of DEYA PHOTOGRAPHY which is a name renowned throughout the World as being synonymous with excellent dog and cat photography - our photos can be found on all the continents in numerous magazines, books, coverings, adverts and one of them even found its place on the official pedigree form of Croatian Kennel Club for a couple of years.
I have been also Assistant Editor of the Croatian Kennel Club Magazine "Moj Pas", Art director of some other Magazines and owner & Editor of Dog Vision Magazine, previous DEYA Photography Catalogue, since 2007. Regular articles and photographs have appeared in the world famous OUR DOGS newspaper, in print and online.
We have been official photographers at many National & International shows including 3 World and 2 European Dog Shows so far.
